AATP's Background
We are USC Asian American Tutorial Project (USC AATP). Since 1969, AATP has gone to Castelar Elementary in Los Angeles' Chinatown to tutor children with individualized attention and education support. AATP's mission has been to meet the pressing educational needs of the immigrant and low-income youth population of the Chinatown community. Annually, AATP has a pool of over 200 tutors from UCLA, USC, and Occidental College to provide tutoring and mentoring services to the K-5 students at Castelar Elementary.
AATP is back this year with virtual tutoring opportunities, a brand new pen-pals program, a continuation of our Online Virtual Curriculum (OVC) program, and more! AATP's Intern Program launches every Spring for those interested in joining our e-board. Weekly newsletters come out every Sunday with new AATP updates.
